Once upon a time there was a weird, weird year, with a touch of pandemic and a lot of adaptation. It was early March when life changed worldwide, something that no one expected and that, at the same time, separated and reconnected us in a different way. A forced back to basics that turned everything upside down.
This year has brought us new words: EPI, PCR, hydroalcoholic gel... but the best thing is that it has given new meaning to words that we may have forgotten, such as empathy, embrace, missing.
In many cases we have reconnected with our feelings and realized how much a hug can be needed. You could say that, like everyone else, we have gone through the 5 phases of pure and simple mourning:
- Denial stage: This isn't happening, it's temporary and will end quickly
- Anger stage: Why? Angry with the situation and with the difficulties suffered by companies, colleagues and family members.
- Negotiation stage: Well, nothing happens, we do Digital 1to1 virtually and in a few months we will all be together again.
- Depression stage: It seems that we are locked up again, hotels close, bars close, commerce is restricted...
- Acceptance stage: OK, this is going to take a long time so let's get down to the business of understanding best practices to deliver a Covid Safe experience so that all hivers and staff are protected and comfortable.
The retrospective
The year began as usual, new resolutions, new proposals for vertical events and only a few rumors that reached us from distant China, but nothing, rumors...
In this optimistic atmosphere we were lucky enough to celebrate with all of you the most magical Digital 1to1 of 2020, moments of networking, 1to1 meetings, pitch competition of startups and, of course, the party in an enchanted forest full of magic and mysteries.
Shall we remember it together?
The most virtual
With the pandemic already upon us and the worldwide uncertainty unleashed, we launched Virtual 1to1 in June and Logistics Day in September in full virtual mode. It was not easy!
Incredible as it may seem, we found it much more difficult to organize a 100% virtual event than the usual Digital 1to1 . A thousand questions, a thousand adaptations, making sure it is comfortable for the attendees and of course, being able to guarantee the business expectations of the attendees.
Missed it? Don't worry, we like to record everything so you can watch it in loop mode if there's nothing on TV.
Long live hybrids
Who would have thought a year ago that the accessory of the year would be face masks, not even the best trendsetters!
If you can't go to Digital 1to1, Digital 1to1 comes to you. In this spirit and with the desire to networking we studied all possible security measures to create a Covid Safe protocol and launch into the hybrid world.
2 cities, Barcelona and Madrid, connected with the virtual world so that the limits fade away and we can continue to create new synergies.
It's a shame for those who had to attend virtually because the views both at Barcelona and in Madrid were breathtaking 😉
The icing on the cake
It is not that the year has been busy, it is that we have given it a shake worthy of deserving a happy ending and best of all is that it has helped us to be prepared for what may come in 2021, we hope it will not be the same and that all this ends as soon as possible, but meanwhile and as the situation will take its time, we have planned a schedule of events of networking necessary for companies to continue creating new business opportunities and addressing their digital challenges.
Dinners
A new express format, 3-minute appointments, cocktail from networking and... the bug goes and hits hard again. Closed bars, curfews, perimeter closures? Nothing we could not save with a change of dates and a dinner in European time to respect the curfew and that everyone could get home without any problem.

2020 has been a bittersweet year, but we say goodbye with a smile on our faces knowing that, despite everything, despite all the difficulties and uncertainties, we have given the best of ourselves.
